1. What careers or jobs can a person get by knowing AutoCAD?
2. What is the salary for the job?

Our Computer Integrated Manufacturing classes have began 2 projects. The first one is the intro to Mastercam and CNC machines. The other students will be working on developing a concept car.

In Mastercam, students went through the parts and uses of a CNC machine and developed a jewlery box and lid out of wood.

The concept car will be made using photoshop, solidworks, and a presentation.

Students have started to get into the design and drafting aspect of technology. Students will be working with mainly AutoCAD 2009 and applying it to the different technology systems.

I hope everyone has had a great Thanksgiving Break. Our next topic is going to be transportation technology and everything that has to do with it. Our major project is going to be CO2 cars that you will design, cut and build. As we begin to get into this topic, start thinking about the impacts and effects of Transportation Technology and the different jobs in this field.

After we worked on our transportation models on the solid works and began to print on the 3d printer, begin to think about what you can do to make it better, mobile, and more realistic. After we worked our way through sketching, diagrams, and mechanical drawings; we will now take a look at turning 2D patterns to 3D objects. Follow this website and read and take notes.

Essential Question for this week in Tech Studies…… How is Sketching essential to technology?

This week, we worked on multi-view drawings out of our sketching and drawing workbook. Make sure you finish the drawings. Remember to place the top above the front view and the side next to the front view. Please dimension full using extention lines and dimension lines with dimension text. Follow all rules on the page.
